Good afternoon Lancaster County Schools parents,
We will be holding a 12-17 year old Covid vaccination clinic on Thursday, June 3rd from 9am to 1pm at Lancaster High School. We are taking appointments or you can just walk in, but students must have a guardian present to sign paperwork. All students/parents should be receiving an email with the appointment link and paperwork. All three schools will have the paperwork available on Tuesday if you do not have email. If you have any questions or concerns please feel free to reach out to our LPS nurse, Kelly Kellum RN at 804-462-5100 and choose the primary school.

Good Evening LCPS Families:
This message is in reference to the recent issues caused by the shutdown of the Colonial Pipeline. We understand that the frenzy caused by the concern for fuel shortages is putting a strain on the surrounding areas’ gas supply. Due to the difficulty to find fuel over the next few days, LCPS will operate remotely, or Learning Mode Red, on Friday, May 14, 2021 and all LCPS buildings will be closed. If the issue is not resolved over the weekend, we will reevaluate the situation. Currently, we plan to resume our normal "B" week schedule for Monday, May 17, 2021.
The May school board meeting will be held this Tuesday, 5/11/2021 at 5:30 PM and will be conducted in-person at Lancaster Middle School. Good Evening LCPS Families,
As shared at last night’s meeting, the LCPS School Board continues to support the recommendation from our January meeting to resume with our Return to Learn Plan. The plan is to move forward with Pre-K through sixth graders returning February 16th on our hybrid model and seventh through twelfth graders returning March 1st on our hybrid model. Virtual learning will remain an option for all students. Dismissal for all students will be at 1:00 p.m. and Fridays will remain a virtual learning day for all students. Students and staff are expected to follow all safety guidelines in order to maintain our safety mitigations. Again, these are uncharted territories for us. We know there will be issues that we will have to work through. We ask for your patience and cooperation as we proceed.
For the sake of consistency, we will follow this plan unless a major event, local health data or a challenge with having available staff prohibits our ability to proceed with providing in-person learning opportunities through our hybrid model. Families of students who will be attending in-person should prepare for the possibility of having to shift between learning modes from time to time. The Learning Modes may be different for each school if the necessity arises. You can view the ‘LCPS Learning Modes’ chart along with the current designated mode for LCPS at all times on our website. (lcs.k12.va.us) We will also communicate directly with families if a shift in mode is necessary.
Dan Russell, Superintendent
