On Friday, September 27th, the Lancaster County 10th Grade GEAR Up Cohort engaged in college and career readiness activities facilitated by Giles Scott from Virginia Career Works, Karen Hutchinson, Career Navigator at Rappahannock Community College, and Demetra Payne from the Lancaster High School Counseling Department.

GEAR Up, which stands for Gaining Early Awareness and Readiness for Undergraduate Programs, is a grant program designed to enhance the preparedness of students for postsecondary education through participation from Lancaster County.

During the event, students participated in PSAT preparation as well as Virtual Reality Career Exploration. We express our heartfelt gratitude to our community partners who are dedicated to helping students align their passions with purposeful career paths.
