General Summer EBT Updates:
• Virginia SUN Bucks will provide families with eligible school-aged children a grocery benefit of $120 per eligible child on an existing EBT card or a new Virginia SUN Bucks EBT card beginning in late August.
• School-aged children receiving SNAP, TANF, or certain income-eligible Medicaid will automatically be enrolled in Virginia SUN Bucks without applying.
• Households with eligible children who attended an NSLP school but who do not have established eligibility, must submit a Virginia SUN Backs application to VDSS to be eligible, if their income qualifies.
• The fillable PDF application will be available to households on the website beginning July 1. It must be printed and mailed to VDSS in Richmond.
• All households who must apply will be required to submit the student’s unique local student ID number , which is the student's cafeteria number/ Powerschool number, on the Virginia SUN Bucks application.
