The Lions Club has organized speakers to help the 8th grade students at Lancaster High School explore careers of interest.
On November 21, 2023, Mr. Brad Perry visited Lancaster High School and shared his experiences working with NASA. He helped students understand the many opportunities that were available and also the educational pathways for careers in science and technology.
In addition, on December 18, 2023, Mr. Homer Cook visited Lancaster High School and met with 8th grade students to explore the Merchant Marines. Mr. Cook, a retired Navy Surface Line Officer, presented his experiences in the military and how it provided him opportunities for training, education, and travel. Mr. Cook also provided information about many different types of military careers and the education and training requirements.
